Work side-by-side with owner as Assistant Farm Manager on 8,000 Ha winter cropping focused operation.

About the role
Join a progressive family operation working alongside the ‘highly engaging’ owner in the day-to-day operations of an 8,000 Ha aggregation in the Bland Shire. Approx. 90% of the business is focused on cropping operations planting approx. 5,000 Ha each year to a rotation of cereals, oilseeds, pulses. They also run a small number of cattle and sheep.

To make life easier they have invested in the latest model machinery and equipment and agtech (e.g. New Holland / John Deere headers & tractors, Stoll boom sprays).

The owner is looking to employ a team mate not a worker, who wants to be his righthand person he can depend up on. You must be willing to be flexible in peak times but be off in the down times.

The owner will ensure you gain lots of responsibility, knowledge, enjoyment and laughs on an extremely well-run family farm.

Main Responsibilities
(must be demonstrated in your application letter/resume)

• Manage, operate and maintain machinery and equipment for the broadacre cropping operations.
• Assist livestock enterprises, ensuring animal health and production efficiencies.
• Maintain the farm to high standards incl. infrastructure, plant, machinery and equipment.
• Understanding and implementation of all OH&S procedures.
• Timely focus on spraying activities and following consultant recommendations.
