About the role
We are looking for an initiative-taking and experienced Geology Database Administrator to join the Iluka team.
The position is based in our Perth or Adelaide offices, report directly to the Principal GIS Geologist, the main responsibilities of this role include:
Support discovery, exploration and resource development through the efficient management and maintenance of Iluka’s geological acQuire database
Develop processes and controls to manage the increasing focus on REE in both heavy minerals and hard rock deposits
Improve the process and provide support for field data entry, validation, and quality control within the central acQuire database
Work with internal and external laboratories to ensure efficient and accurate QA/QC management and data capture
Strive for continuous improvement of database useability though AI, integration, and automation for data capture, verification and management
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Degree qualification in Data Science, Geology, GIS, or Information Technology
Demonstrated experience using acQuire database software
Previous experience in a database role within the mining & resources industry
Ability to use SQL
Familiarity or prior experience with GIS, Python, QGIS, Micromine, or Datamine will be highly valued
