Parks/Playgrounds Infrastructure Maintenance Team Members

  • Monday to Friday - 7am to 3.06pm
  • Depots located in Melbourne’s CBD

Citywide is recruiting for Parks and Playgrounds Infrastructure Team Members to work within our prestigious open space contract in Melbourne’s CBD. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day review, maintenance and repair of parks and playgrounds assets including, paths, fencing, decking, shade structures, basketball/netball courts, fitness equipment, benches, bollards etc.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to: 

  • Maintenance, installation and repair of parks, landscape features, path networks, fencing, decking shade structures, sports courts, benches, bollards and other park assets.
  • Inspect playgrounds and surrounding areas daily for hazards and litter.
  • Playground auditing assessments and repairs (AHCPGD206).
  • Checking uprights and supports, condition of steps, decking and handrails, checking of fittings, shade structures, soft fall and rubberised surfaces etc.
  • Undertake inspections for specific issues including functionality of equipment, stability, wear & tear, surfaces and supports.
  • Monitor tree condition in open space areas
  • Facilitate Events in parks as required e.g. pre-event site inspections, litter collection, placement of bins etc.
  • Use and maintenance of machinery such as tractors, loaders, small plant equipment and tools
  • Ensure work carried out is compliant with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • AHCPGD206 Conduct Visual Inspection of Park Facilities – Highly Desirable
  • AHCPGD305 Conduct Operational Inspection of Park Facilities - Highly Desirable
  • Trade certificate AQF Level 4 or equivalent
  • Experience using tools and machinery
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and problem solving
  • Team orientated as well as able to work autonomously
  • Police Check Clearance
  • Victorian Employment Working with Children Check
  • Current valid Victorian Drivers Licence

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current valid Victorian Medium Rigid Driver Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Traffic Management
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good timekeeping skills
  • Must be team orientated, highly motivated and able to follow instructions
