About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to join our Perioperative team on a part time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.

About us

Brisbane Private is a 181 bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands. Specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, Rehabilitation and general surgery and delivery of Brisbane's leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services.

As a Clinical Nurse Educator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify educational needs by partnering with Nursing Leaders (i.e. DON, NUM, CNS) and Clinical Support Functions (i.e. Quality, Infection Control)
  • Active development and implementation of learning plans
  • New staff orientation and skills assessment and training
  • Maintaining staff competencies
  • Regular implementation of in servicing for staff·

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator - ideal but not essential
  • Clinical facilitation and mentorship experience (desirable)
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE)
  • Working with Children check (if relevant)
  • Thorough knowledge of ACORN standards and current legislation (perioperative specific)
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
  • Knowledge of adult learning practises and contemporary education practises
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
